Our Adoptable Dogs

Buddy is a roughly 6 year old boxer mix we pulled from a local shelter before he was euthanized. He was simply in the “wrong place at the wrong time” and was only able to be rescued because someone reached out to us at the last second! Buddy is the SWEETEST boy, great with dogs, kids, people of all kinds, and has loved everyone we’ve introduced him to! Though The Heroic Tail typically rescues dogs deemed “unadoptable”, Buddy is the exception as we just couldn’t let him be put down just because of overcrowding. He truly is one of the easiest dogs we’ve had the pleasure to work with. He is a snuggly, sweet pup who only wants to be near his people! Maui

Maui is a 6 month old female puppy from a German Shepherd mix accidental litter we took in. Her mama is a GSD mix at about 45lbs so Maui will likely be a bit smaller than a typical GSD. Maui is the sweetest, snuggliest, little girl! All she wants is a human to be her best friend! She is a very calm puppy, and she gets along great with other dogs, people, and kids. We haven’t seen her with cats, but we don’t imagine she’d have any problems, because she’s too sweet! Send us a message or apply for more info!

Bulma is a husky/terrier mix we brought in from a rescue that shut down. She’s incredibly sweet and eager to learn, and has undergone intensive training to work through some reactivity issues due to her abandonment. She continues to work with trainers and is ready for her furrrever home! Send us a message for more info on her adoptable date and adoption fees!

Mac(chiato)

Macchiato, or Mac, is a 6 month old male puppy from a German Shepherd mix accidental litter we took in. His mama is a GSD mix at about 45lbs so Mac will likely be a bit smaller than a typical GSD. This whole litter has been shockingly sweet and snuggly, and Mac is no exception! Mac went into a foster shortly after we brought him into our rescue, and his report cards always say he’s the best pup ever! No one loves his people as much as Mac does. Leo is a 3 year old cane corso/mastiff mix. He’s a huge love, and his favorite past time is loving on his people and being fed limitless treats. Before he was sent to us, Leo was abandoned by his original family and sent to an abusive trainer for many months, so he’s only now learning how to trust people again. He loves to learn and is working hard to regain his trust so he can find his furever home! Send us a message for more info and adoption fees!

How It Works

01 Find a dog you'd like to meet

Scroll through our website and check out our adoptable dogs! Once you see someone you'd like to meet, go to step 2!

02 fill out our adoption or foster application

Once you decide whether you'd like to be a temporary foster and help a dog in need, or if you're ready to take the plunge and adopt! Fill out the application that applies to you and await our reply!

03 Schedule a Meet & greet with us

We'll review your application and get back to you within 48 hours to schedule a meet & greet with your selected pooch. If you'd like to move forward, we'll let you know what you should prepare your home with for your upcoming dog.

04 Schedule a home visit

Last step! We come to you with your selected rescue dog, and do a home visit. Assuming all goes well and you're prepared for your new dog, the next step is adoption!

05 Take your new pup home!

Before you take your new dog home, we'll have you sign our adoption agreement and submit your adoption fee, and then..... TIME TO BRING YOUR NEW FURBABY HOME!
